Transparency and Accountability in New Mexico Government
It is my goal to bring transparency and accountability to New Mexico Government. Cronyism and political appointments are rampant. I will cut government waste and streamline state agencies that are middle management heavy. We need to insure that taxpayer monies directly serve those that need it.
New Mexico Health Care Act
The plan guarantees health care coverage for all New Mexicans, regardless of age, income, employment, or health status. There will be freedom of choice of doctor and hospital within the state and across state lines. It will provide a savings of $887 million in three years. Insurance companies would no longer call the shots in matters of health care in New Mexico.
Board of Regents being elected by the people
At the present time all board of regents for all New Mexico Universities are appointed by the Governor. If Board of Regents are elected by the people of New Mexico there will be more public accountability in the administration in higher education.
Election Reform
The public no longer has influence on our elected officials when big corporate interests provide funding of candidates that are running for office. We need to have our public officials accountable to the people of New Mexico, not beholden to big corporations.
